Please remember to include your Donor ID number and sponsored child’s ID number on the letter. You can find these numbers on any correspondence we have sent you about your sponsorship (for instance, your sponsored child booklet you first received, annual sponsored child update, tax receipt), in MyPlan, or by calling us at 1 800 387-1418.
Writing to your sponsored child is also a great way to learn more about them and the difference you are helping to make in their community. Most sponsored children love to receive letters and cards from their sponsors. It can be a great source of encouragement for them to know that someone far away cares about them and their future. How often will my sponsored child write? Like us, sponsored children become discouraged if they don’t receive a reply when they write a letter. To help manage this, children are asked to write two letters per year. When you send a message to your sponsored child, they’ll also write back. We call these reciprocal letters and you may receive.
